DREAMWEAVER BASICS:
Macromedia Dreamweaver is the
industry standard for creating
professional websites.
Dreamweaver is an HTML web page
editor. HTML (HyperText Markup
Language) is the main
programming language of the
World Wide Web. Dreamweaver will
help even the novice computer
user create web pages quickly
and easily without prior
knowledge of HTML. In this short
course you will learn about the
Dreamweaver interface, tools and
the basics of designing a web
site with multiple web pages,
formatting text, changing page
properties, inserting graphics,
creating lists, links and
tables. This course will also
include more advanced functions
such as creating image maps,
rollover graphics, Flash text,
and the Dreamweaver Library for
commonly used web page items. At
the conclusion of the class, the
various methods of uploading the
web pages to web servers via FTP
(File Transfer Protocol) will be
discussed.
SITE
DEFINITION & UPLOADING:
Learn how to define a
Dreamweaver website, create
folders, and upload using FTP
(File Transfer Protocol).
CREATE PAGES:
Create pages that include text,
graphics, links, buttons, etc.
Format text, tables, and
graphics.
TABLES:
Use
tables to control the placement
of page elements. Work with
columns, rows, and borders. Work
with cells, background colors,
alignment, etc.
LAYERS:
In many situations layers are
even better than tables for
placing objects such as text and
graphics exactly where you want
them.
IMAGES:
Insert and resize graphics. Add
Rollover images that change as
visitors roll their mouse over
the image.
TEMPLATES:
Create and edit templates which
include elements that will
appear on every page of your
website.
STYLE SHEETS:
Create, edit, and attach Style
Sheets that incorporate text
formatting, colors, etc. that
will appear throughout your
website.
LINKS:
Create links to other websites,
to pages within your website,
and e-mail links.
FLASH BUTTONS & FLASH TEXT:
Create cool Flash text and/or
buttons from within Dreamweaver
(no Flash experience necessary).
